Space Coast Florida Fishing Fun
You will find fun for everyone on Florida’s Space Coast. With Cocoa Beach, and it’s redfish filled Indian River Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon, and Mosquito Lagoon there is much to explore. We offer deep sea fishing in Florida from Port Canaveral south to Melbourne Beach covering a lot of mileage. Named because of it’s proximity to Kennedy Space Center (KSC), it’s shuttle launches and landings, Brevard County, dubbed the name “Space Coast.” Included in this area, you will find charter fishing a favorite activity. Being close to Orlando makes it easy for an angler to experience the Space Coast.
The Space Center has several attractions, including tours of the KSC with bus rides into and around museums and historical facilities. Space rocket launches are infrequent. However, if you’re lucky and on the Space Coast during a launch window, you might witness one of these spectacular launches. With the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge in the northern part of the Space Coast, it’s boundaries are partially defined by the Mosquito Lagoon to the north. The Banana River Lagoon to the south. Redfish and speckled sea trout fishing are some of the best in the world. Fishing Mosquito Lagoon around these areas can be better than anywhere else in the world. When targeting these two species, it doesn’t stop there; there are heftily sized snook and tarpon as well.

Cocoa Beach Fishing Guide
My grade school’s name was MILA, an acronym for Merritt Island Launch Area. From Mila I watched on a black, and white television, astronaut, Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. From our playground, we observed many of the Apollo moon launches. Growing up in Brevard County or the Space Coast, my father often took me fishing. Every weekend we were catching cobia in the ocean, snook, and tarpon in our waterfront backyard — redfish in the shallow water surrounding our island home.
The Space Coast has transformed from a pioneered frontier at Dummit Cove and it’s early history and humble beginnings.
If you are visiting the Space Coast anytime soon, please give us a call. Set up a trip with me. I’ll share with you some of the spectacular fishing that my father showed me while growing up on my island home. Come and experience a bit of Florida’s Space Coast.
